Here's a vintage 1956 Fender Pro in great condition.  The original tweed has darkened considerably and looks awesome!  Very clean inside and out, with no smoke or funky smells.Minor handling and play wear - in much better condition than most tweed amps out there.  Not mint, so you aren't afraid to play it, but nice enough for the collectors out there. The serial number is S00524, which is handwritten on the tube chart and stamped on the chassis.  The ink stamp FA is on the chassis but not on the chart (common for this era), and this indicates a January 1956 completion date.  All of the original cap codes date to 1955 except one, which dates to 1952 (fully original, so must have been in the bottom of the Fender parts bin for a while).  The pots are dated late 1955.This 5E5-A circuit happened about the time this amp was manufactured.  It is a big improvement over the previous 5E5, since it adds bass, treble, and presence controls. When I got it, the amp had the original 2 prong ac cord, which was dry-rotted and deteriorating.  I replaced this with a grounded 3 prong cord.  The original Hayco strain releive was used, and the chassis hole was not modified. There was the typical audio hum due to leaky and dried out electrolytic caps, so those were replaced with new Spragues.  The originals are included as shown in the pics. The original preamp and power tubes tested low, so the preamp tubes were replaced with new-old-stock (boxes included as shown in the pics) and the power tubes are now a matched set of used Sylvania/GE's.The speaker is an original vintage 1960 Jensen P15P.  This speaker sounds great and is very comparable to the P15N of the era.The handle was replaced at one time and has been restored.  You can see where the other one was installed.  The current handle may be original, but also may be a replacement - it is difficult to tell.A few of the back panel screws look like they could be replacements, but they are the same type and size as the originals. The asbestos has been professionally removed from the upper back panel. The amp now looks and SOUNDS great.  Ready to play at home, studio, or your next live gig.  The looks and tone will certainly turn heads!Payment Terms:Payment due within 3 days of sale.
