Fender ’66 RI Albert Collins Telecaster MIJ T Serial (2010) Fully Bound Natural Ash Here is the second of our Fender Albert Collins RI Telecasters. She's a MIJ T-Serial (2007-2010) TL66B. That's a '66 custom with a fully bound ash body & maple neck with maple capped fingerboard. She's got vintage style frets with a 7.25 radius & medium oval C-shape neck. This comes from a super limited Fender Japan run. Production has long since finished and they were domestic only, which means they were never made for export outside of Japan. There won't be any more of these built. She's a real beauty with some great ash grain all over the body, cream binding and nice maple grain running up the fingerboard/neck. She has the correct 'transition' logo on the headstock just like the Iceman's '66 Custom. And as far as I'm aware this is the only fully bound Ash Telecaster with a maple fingerboard Fender Japan ever built. The '62 reissues (TL62B) were all built with alder bodies with rosewood boards. Anyway, she is in fabulous condition throughout, with only the lightest signs of ever having been played, a little scuffing to the pickguard & a few wispy lines, that kind of stuff. No big nasty dings or chips etc. Obviously no breaks or repairs, neck dead straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life in the frets. Beautiful condition. She has a great sounding (defined with plenty of twang & bite) aftermarket USA made Seymour Duncan in the bridge and the original warm, smooth jazzy sounding Dragster humbucker in the neck. Both sound great, but the middle position for me is the sweet spot, pure Albert Collins. She plays like a dream too with a very easy action. Other than the SD she is 100% factory specced with 3-ply white scratchplate, 6 saddles, Fender stamped neck plate & klusion style tuners. There are no issues whatsoever, the neck is dead straight, truss rod fine and frets like new. Comes with Japanese gig bag. An absolute beast of a Tele and easily as good as the USA built £3k+ Fender custom shop edition and imo it's all the cooler for not having a signature on the headstock (but that's just me.)
All my guitars are shipped inside their HSC/gig bags in padded purpose designed tough durable boxes. My packaging is indestructible. The guitar will reach you in perfect condition. NO TRADES, HOLDS or PART EXCHANGE. I get a lot of questions so will no respond to any of these offers. Cheers.
