Andrés Marin - Gold medal 1882 and 1883Calle Barcelonina, 11 - Valencia - about 1900/1910 In the history of spanish classical guitar, Andrés Marin from Valencia was other considerable luthier of 1900, the "valencia guitar school", is name is also in the book of Romanillos, dedicated at spanish guitar makers. He married the widow of Agustin Almonacid, who had a guitar factory at Calle Barcelona 17, becoming his successor, around 1882. According to his label, he had won medals for his guitars in 1882 and 1883. When he died his son, Andres Marin Collado, took over, and moved the factory to Turis, but maintained a retail outlet on the Avda. del Oeste in Valencia. The Spanish Civil war was very hard on the business. After his death, the factory limped along first under the direccion of his daughter, Lola Marin Soucase, and then under her son, before going bankrupt in 1952.The sides is lightly slim of normal, 82 mm, diapason 63,8 cm, nut width 48 mm.The sound is old and with nice balance. The guitar has some normal sign of time (normal for 100 years old guitar), but all is perfect restored and stabilized. This guitar is ideal - for quality, price and level,  to approach the historical spanish guitars. The guitar is part of collection "El siglo de oro de la guitarra espanola". A very fine and rare example of spanish guitar history.Year about 1900/10Top: SpruceBack and side: Indian rosewoodFinish: Top French polish, Back and side, natural finish (no FP)Scale lenght: 63,8 mmNut width: 48 mmFree hard-shell caseWorldwide shipment with UPS
