A fine French violin bow made by Justin Poirson ca. 1920, branded on the stick "POIRSON A PARIS", certified by J.F. Raffin in Paris. J. Poirson was a pupil of the great Nicolas Maire, also a maker of fine bows for J.B. Vuillaume. This is a fine example of the maker's work, strong with a wonderful sound and excellent handling.
The stick is a ornge brown pernambuco, round, strong. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings.The length of the stick is 73.3 cm and the weight is of the bow is 61 g. It is in a very fine condition, ready to play.
