A fine French violin bow made by Justin Poirson ca. 1920, branded on the stick "POIRSON A PARIS", certified by J.F. Raffin in Paris. J. Poirson  was a pupil of the great Nicolas Maire, also a maker of fine bows for J.B. Vuillaume. This is a fine example of the maker's work, strong with a wonderful sound and excellent handling. 
The stick is a ornge brown pernambuco, round, strong. T
he frog and button are ebony with silver mountings.The length of the stick is 73.3 cm and the weight is of the bow is 61 g. It is in a very fine condition, ready to play.
