This is one cool guitar! US made G&L Legacy Special from the 90s. The notes in the pickup cavity say BLK = black, RW = rosewood fretboard, LEG SPEC = Legacy Special, prI = pearl pickguard.This is a great guitar! The neck is just right, the rosewood fretboard is dark and figured, the tremolo showcases Leo's genius, and the original locking tuner work perfectly.The original Gotoh-made blade pickups were swapped for a boutique, US-handmade Vintage Inspired Pickups STRATZ set ($240 value, up to 3 months waiting list). The bridge pickup is slightly overwound with VIP's exclusive 42 AWG plain enamel coated copper wire for added warmth and dynamics, while the neck and middle are wound with 42 AWG polyurethane coated copper wire. A5 staggered pole pieces.This guitar was a main on-stage guitar for many years, but obviously has always been taken care of. The guitar does have a few dings and dongs here and there (check out the picture), mostly on the back, but it only adds to the character of the guitar. Frets show age appropriate wear and will have to be leveled at some point in the future, but right now, the guitar plays flawlessly with low action and no buzz. Ships in a quality Roadrunner softshell case (not a gig bag), but no whammy bar or back plate.This G&L may be the best US-made Stratocaster you can buy for the money!
