Description

Collector's grade & 100% original condition. This was the last vintage [all wood] electric guitar built by Supro, prior to being bought out by Kay instruments in 1969. This thing really should be allowed to do all the talking for itself, because from the moment you strum your first chord or pick the first note you realize that hype is not necessary. If you're not familiar with the famed Vista-Tone single coil pickups, do yourself a favor and run a quick Google search...
The original "Vista-Tone" p'ups have truly become legendary in large part thanks to Jack White (and others) who recently rediscovered these early Supro/Valco/Oahu gems that were essentially lost in obscurity for decades! The guitar also features a super-cool mid-60s alligator print tolex wrapped hardshell case & original "two-line" Kluson Deluxe tuners! Why pay up to 10 times the amount of money for a name like Fender, Gibson, Gretsch, of the same era? This 50 plus year old American made Supro has all the tone and mojo you would expect from a great vintage electric guitar! Condition may be verified by Master Luthier Greg Maxwell of Dogwoodguitars.com, where it was just completely gone through and setup for 11s (which is what I'd highly recommend with this design). It plays very comfortably with low to medium low action at the 12th fret. Case, cable, & strap/straplocks included with asking price. I have tons of pictures, but would be happy to take more upon request! Private message for link to photo album.
