Description Body Type: Solid Model: Melody Maker String Configuration: 6 String Dexterity: Right-Handed Exact Year: 1960 Brand: Gibson Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
Vintage early 1960 Gibson Melody Maker project guitar. No parts or hardware included (also, no nut is included, although the original bushings for the tailpiece are still on the guitar). Comes with an original vintage Gibson chipboard case, as shown in the photos. The chipboard case is showing wear, has a few large stickers on it, and is missing the center lid for the internal case compartment - but the case functions, and all the latches are original and work as they should. This vintage guitar husk is in good shape. The guitar has had a headstock repair, and I believe this might have been a factory repair, where they refinished the headstock and also the full neck was refinished at the same time. The headstock repair is extremely solid, and the refinished neck looks great. But the rest of the guitar's finish is all original: front and back of the body. Original frets showing expected wear. Beautiful Brazilian rosewood fretboard in very nice shape. Nice thick, chunky neck profile, is thick/chunky all the way up the length of the neck, and measuring about 0.90 inches at the first fret. No playability problems or issues - just a great old guitar husk. Overall, an excellent old Gibson Melody Maker guitar husk - to restore, or to turn into a nice vintage player guitar.$75 shipping in the USA via UPS Ground. Sorry, no buyers outside the USA - I will only ship in the USA. Payment by PayPal. Sorry, no returns. Thanks for looking!
