The 36 inch Wind Gong has a depth of tone, a deepness that distinguishes it from its smaller Wind Brothers and Sisters. It is also loud and expressive. If you need a gong that has a presence, the 36 Wind will deliver. The incredible thing about 36 and 40 inch Wind Gongs is that they go places, sonically, that the smaller wind gongs, like 22 and 28 inch do not. They have depth of tone, variations that are creative and clever. Sometimes you get sustains that sound like old school analog synthesizers, other times you have bubbly percolators, deep bass as well. But always if you play them and build it, you can find the crash. They are fascinating instruments. Each time you hit a gong this big, it removes another dictator from power... but when you do that it puts a lot of people out of work - yes men, caterers, tailors, the non-independent press!...
