A very fine certified Italian viola made by Natale Carletti in 1940 in Pieve di Cento, Italy. Born in 1904, Natale was a pupil of his father Carlo Carletti. Natale was also an accomplished cellist. In 1941 (when his father passed away) Natale Carletti took over the father's shop. In 1949 he has won a gold medal at Cremona competition.
This wonderful viola is labeled with Carlo Carletti original label, signed by Natale Carletti, also it is signed and dated inside on the table. This is one of most interesting instruments of the maker. The model and varnish, scroll and many other details are very close to the father's work. The instrument is in a very fine state of preservation. It is a fine, solo kind of instrument with a rich, deep and beautiful voice. The length over the back is 42.0 cm. Please bid with confidence
