Description Brand: Fender Dexterity: Right-Handed Model: Telecaster Body Type: Solid String Configuration: 6 String Exact Year: 1974 Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
This is one of my favorite guitars and I'm only considering selling it to finance the purchase of another vintage guitar. It's a 1974 Telecaster with some history. The previous owner stripped the original red color of the (very nice swamp ash!) body to refinish it in blonde (which is how I got it). However, the finish was of fairly bad quality, so I had MJT Custom Aged Guitar Finishes refinish it again in Sherwood Green nitro and age it appropriately. The previous owner also routed the neck pickup cavity to fit a Wide Range humbucker (that's my guess, based on the size of the route). The neck was untouched and 100% original. I've only had the original nut (which was of terrible CBS-quality) replaced with a Graph Tech TUSQ nut and the tuners with 1:1 Fender replacement tuners (which are way better than the original tuners). The original nut and tuners (minus two of the original ferrules, which where already missing when I bought it) are in the case and included. String trees are original. Frets are original and a little low, but the guitar plays very well with no buzz and very low action.
