1965 USA Made Pre CBS Fender Mustang dated:"8-march-1965". How awesome is it that Leo Fender was walking around the plant while this beauty was being made? Let the pictures speak for themselves, this mustang is beautiful and in super shape for being 52 years old. The guitar has recently had a professional set up, oiled fretboard, and new strings. The case is in relatively good condition also, aside from someone stenciling their name on the case (shown in photo). The original pickups (both dated 1965) are not wired Into the guitar at the moment, but are included with the guitar. Right now the mustang has a awesome 1967 stratocaster pickup in the bridge and a 80s stratocaster pickup in the neck. I had the pickups switched because the original 1965 mustang pickups are too weak for my taste, but again the originals are included with the guitar. It also comes with the original paper work when the guitar was bought, over 52 years ago!At some point in its history someone had replaced the tuners with different ones but I had the originals put back on. You can see the very small screw holes on the back of the headstock from where they had done this. Take note though that it doesn't effect the guitar at all, just aesthetically. Also someone had added an extra string tree, again creating a very small screw hole on the front of the headstock. Aside from this the guitar doesn't have any damage to it from what I can see. It sounds and looks beautiful. It does have a little hum when playing loud, which is normal for single coil guitars, especially ones this old.
