This is an Extremely RARE instrument. 1938 Rickenbacher (1 - year before they changed spelling to Richenbacker)Model B Lap Steel --- Near MINT (minus one tuner being replaced) Museum Grade: Look at the nickel plating, it's nearly perfect reflection/mirror. Instrument looks like it's from a time warp! With original case & candy.
What makes this model extremely rare - it is *All Black* meaning, all Model B's presently known, have white or nickel panels on the instrument face. This model has ALL BLACK panels & was a custom built by Electro String/Rickenbacher for an unknown/mystery artist. The horseshoe pickup sounds incredible. Instrument plays & sounds great. All original (minus one tuner). The headstock label is the vintage label that reads "Rickenbacher" before it was simplified for the layman's: "Rickenbacker". Only issue is:
1) The top Left headstock tuner has been replaced.
2) 5th fret inlay dot on fretboard has popped out. Willing to replace with a pearl dot (will never know it's been replaced).
