Description Brand: Gretsch
This is a very special drum. It is a 3 ply vintage round badge Gretsch 16x16 floor tom that was converted long ago to a bass drum. It has an incredible sound. It is even more special because this drum belonged to the late great Eddie Locke, a protege of Jo Jones who is featured in the Great Day in Harlem photo and documentary. Check out this photo of Eddie playing this bass drum with Roy Eldridge in the 1970s!This is a very rare and great sounding drum with a lot of history. It was played behind many of the greatest jazz musicians ever and it is seriously the baddest sounding 16" bass drum you're going to hear. I really want it to go to a good home.
