Blue's flagship mic. This is the only red one I've ever seen. I got it used perhaps 8 years ago. I don't know its age. Its serial number is 98-0707. Maybe it was manufactured in 1998? I never used it. I was intending to do a lot of recording, and that simply never came to pass. Now I'm mainly doing mastering, and I just don't need this mic.It sounds amazing--in a shoot out for main vocal mic on my personal latest album, it was a very close call between this and my Brauner VMX (which I'm keeping for now). The original capsule comes with it--there are others you can get, with different characteristics. Look at Blue's website for more info.

The cable that connects the mic to the power supply is a typical 7-pin, and will ship with the mic, but I believe this cable needs to be replaced. When I tested the mic a couple months ago, I heard RFI (radio frequency interference) coming over the mic. It was very soft--even in headphones I almost didn't notice it--but when I replaced the original BLUE cable with the Brauner VMX's cable--also a 7-pin--the RFI went away. So the cable was the culprit. You can get a new 7-pin cable from Guitar Center for $60.Be aware: this mic previously sold to a buyer who returned it, saying it didn't work at all. When I got the return, I plugged it in and also found it wasn't working...until it had warmed up. I'd forgotten the power supply waits until the tube is warm before it passes sound. It takes 3-5 minutes. I believe the previous purchaser never waited the entire warm-up period! But I've tested the mic, and it works, and sounds wonderful. So when you get it, make sure you wait through the warm-up period!Comes with the heavy, gigantic case, of course.Looks like the new Bottles are going for $4k.
