For sale is Cliff, this vintage 1970 Gibson ES-150DW hollow body in a gorgeous Walnut finish. This guitar is in all-original condition with original hardshell case. The ES-150 is the only double-cutaway true hollow body guitar that Gibson ever produced with humbuckers, and they only made fewer than 2500 of them between 1969-1970. The ES-150 has the same appointments and dimensions as an ES-335, but with a thicker 3” hollow body (which gives it a sweet, pleasant voice all of its own!). Additionally, it has a master volume control that comes in very handy when setting levels on the fly. The neck profile is a very comfortable 1960’s shape, very similar to what was being produced on the 335’s of the time. Weighing in at under 7lbs, this Gibson hollowbody is a much lighter alternative to it’s semi-hollowbody cousin (ES-335).  It plays and sounds wonderful, and can play anything from jazz to blues or rock. This vintage instrument does show signs of play wear, but is structurally sound with no cracks or repairs. There are a few dings, normal swirling and finish checking, and the finish has worn off of the back of the neck. The frets have some wear, but still have life left in them and play great! The original owner (Cliff) lightly scratched his name on the neck heel and tailpiece. It’s really hard to see, but it is there. Comes with original hardshell case, which is in fair condition but has one broken latch.
