Hello Friends,I am regrettably putting my 1966 Vox Spitfire up for auction. Where do I begin? This guitar is over 50 years old. I bought this guitar about 10 years ago. I have a certain interest (that's putting it mildly) in all vintage instruments and equipment but especially the Vox instruments from the 1960's and 70's. I've owned different Vox guitars from this era, a few of their keyboards like the Vox Continental and the Jaguar, among some other nice pieces. This is one of them. I have never bought with the intention to "flip" and I genuinely thought this guitar was going ultimately be sold when I die at my estate sale. Never the less, it is being sold, at least put up for auction, here today. This electric guitar was made in Italy (like all Vox/EKO instruments of this era) and is in excellent condition. The sunburst finish is in tremendous shape. There is slight checking/lines in the finish which is quite normal for these line of instruments. VOX used a lot of lacker on these (see Vox Cheetah, Starstreamer, MARK series, Phantoms, Spitfire, Invaders, etc.). All the electronics are original and in perfect working order. About 6 months ago I had the guitar cleaned and tuned up by Moe's Guitars in La Mesa, CA (you can google their website). Their staff remarked at the excellent condition this was in.Since that going through the guitar has sat in its original hard shell case in the closet. All pickups original. All tuner pegs and metal work original.Whammy bar (as seen in the pictures)The guitar plate is in excellent condition and only one screw point has succumbed to shrinkage. (Take a look at other Spitfires on eBay to see what I mean).Comes with original hardshell case from 1966 and the original strap. (I've seen the strap sell for $100.00 bucks here on eBay. Also comes with Vox documentation memorabilia and the blue Vox Handy bag for extra strings, the whammy bar (if not in use).I am not trying to underscore the other Vox Spitfires that have been sold an Ebay both past and present. These guitars are very old and for them to be even in decent shape is astounding. This particular Spitfire, when comparing pictures to others, is one of the best looking ones I have seen. I will ship the guitar in its hardshell case in a box. I will provide tracking information and insurance on the shipment. You must have at least a 25 percent feedback score to bid on this please. If not, please contact me before bidding. All Sales are final.I strive for 100% FEEDBACK.If you are in Southern California and would prefer to pick up in San Diego, CA that is an option. FREE SHIPPING to Continental 48.Please contact me with any questions or things you would like to discuss. Thanks!Cheers.
