This is an early 60's Ludwig COB Supraphonic snare drum(pre serial #). It is in amazing condition for its age. I have seen a number of these drums from this era and this one is by far in the best shape. Almost no pitting/scratches or anything of that sort. Hoops are the original COB. Muffler is in tact and working perfectly. Strainer is the same. There are just a couple of very minor aesthetic issues with the drum. On the shell around the muffler there is a slight indent pushing into the interior of the shell. This is quite common for these drums as the brass shell is very pliable as well as easy to repair (if you feel the need to). I chose not to as the muffler works perfectly and it is nearly impossible to notice if you are not looking for it. The second and last cosmetic issue is that the arm of the strainer bends very slightly inward. Same thing... easy to fix and doesn't affect that actual functionality of the strainer in any way. If you wanted to fix it you could probably do it yourself very easily. All in all this drum is in fantastic condition and sounds incredible. The bearing edges are perfect and the hoops are in round. The best way I would be able to describe it is the classic Joe Morello snare sound. : ) If you have any questions at all please let me know. Shipping to continental US only
