Gretsch G5120 Electromatic 125th Anniversary with TV Jones Pickups and Original Hard Case Price: $729.00 For sale is an excellent guitar from the vintage mongers over at Gretsch. This model, the G5120, is the Korean made version of the ever popular 6120 model. It features a classic Bigsby vibrato tailpiece, floating bridge with an intonated brass saddle, and the original Gretschbuckers have been swapped out for TV Jones Super'Tron pickups that give it a bolder and more full broadband punch. This guitar was made in 2008 and is part of the 125th anniversary collection from Gretsch and has a plaque on the back representing this. Tonally this guitar has the classic Gretsch jangle and jive, but with the Super'Tron pickups everything is amplified to a whole new level. The bridge pickup is great for delivering a big, in your face message, with plenty of cut and drive without comprimising that classic tone. The neck pickup is round and robust, with a sweet jazzy tone that thickens up beautifully when pushing an amplifier. Cosmetically this guitar is in great condition, with a few small dings and scratches, some finish swirling and light pick scratches, but nothing of much note. This is a fantastic playing and sounding guitar, with excellent vintage aesthetics and beautiful tonality that bridges a variety of genres and realms.
