The finish is cashew oil which is as organic as shellac.This Sakurai Kohno has a wonderful open sound.
Among my guitars, this Sakurai Kohno is unique in that it sounds good with almost any strings I put on it. On this guitar, I have tried Savarez New Cristal medium tension, Galli Genius medium tension, Dogal Venetian medium tension, Augustine Imperial, Royal Classics Professional, and even D'Addario 45J (which I don't use on any other guitars I have). To me it sounds best with Dogal Venetian trebles and Savarez Red Card bass strings.It comes with Aria light fligh case which protects the guitar very well.Please note that free shipping is only for the 48 U.S. states (Hawaii and Alaska not included).
