Before reading the description of this item, I urge you to first check out my Ebay Seller Feedback. As you will see, my feedback is not only 100% positive--it's over-the-top giddy, a number noting not only the instrument's quality but also my integrity and knowledge and objectivity. I never disappoint. (To find out why buyers again and again describe my sells as "best experience I've ever had on Ebay," skip the description and see the WHAT I DO section at the end of the listing.)*******************MAKE OFFER--I can always say no or counter.Take a $400 Fender Classic Vibe Stratocaster, totally strip, add $500+ in upgrades, throw in a great Levy's gigbag and sell for $700, and that's what we have here: Custom made incredibly light weight dropdead Strat stun gun. Read this even if you're not interested in buying.
I bought this from someone who really knows what he's doing: bought a Classic Vibe 60s Stratocaster new then went to work on it. Amazing refinish with hand rubbed antique walnut oil finish, topped off with two coats of Casey gun stock wax. (One of the many delights of this guitar is feeling it under your right arm with short sleeves--smoothest finish I've ever sheen.)
Add: British hand-wired Tone Rider "Classic Blues" pickups ($150 before installation); CTS Pots; CRL 5-way; Cloth wiring; Fender "fat block" tremolo/bridge; Mint pickguard and back plate. Other details: Aged pots and pickup covers; 1-Piece Maple Neck , Modern "C" Shape; Fingerboard: Rosewood, 9.5"; Frets: Medium Jumbo; Scale Length: 25.5"; Nut Width: 1.65". There are three hairline splits in the body near the butt end (see last picture). These came with it new, filled by its original finish, and since this is a solid body guitar, these, to me, amount to a purely cosmetic non-issue. If they bother you, they could easily be filled with wood paste that would match the finish. I think of them as character references and would leave, but to each his own. Otherwise, the guitar is in like-new condition, including fresh level/crown/polish on the frets and a proper setup by Todd Seefeld. Also note: Lightest Strat I've ever played--barely 7 pounds. If you are looking for a heavy swamp ash type, this ain't it. This is the most aesthetically pleasing Strat I've ever seen. I especially love its stripped simplicity, down to the blank headstock. It was (re)built so lovingly--and so beautifully--if I weren't out of work, I'd almost feel bad about selling. And won't for anything much less than the listing price. (And may change may mind anyway--take advantage of my stupidity now.)
