Description – Korg 01/W FD Keyboard Workstation with Calzone Flight Case For sale is a Korg 01/W FD Workstation Keyboard with a Calzone flight case custom-made for the keyboard. The 01/W in pristine cosmetic condition and is in good working order (except for the floppy drive - see further description below). The Calzone Case is in very good condition and in perfect working order. I am the original owner of both. About the 01/W FD Released in 1991, the 01/W FD is a Korg’s follow-up (after the T series) on their extremely popular, groundbreaking M1 Workstation, the most recorded keyboard in history. The 01/W is an eminently usable workstation with a wide range of useful sounds and an extremely intuitive design. It’s the perfect songwriter’s scratchpad and production tool. About the 01/W FD for sale This 01/W has been carefully cared for in a smoke- and pet-free environment. The Calzone case has kept it very safe in gigging situations. I am the original owner, and as the pictures demonstrate, the instrument is in pristine cosmetic condition. I have recently (April 2017) replaced the battery and re-initialized the factory presets. **NOTE that the 3.5” 2DD floppy disk drive is not functional. I don’t have the bandwidth to install a replacement, but NewEgg currently (mid-April 2017) has a 3.5” floppy drive emulator for interfacing instead with a USB flash drive – much better! - available for $26. This upgrade is demonstrated on YouTube. Again, I just don’t have the bandwidth to tend to this before sale, but it sounds like a great thing. Features include - sample-based AI2 synthesis engine - 200 programs (basic sound patch) - 200 combinations (combining 8 programs) - 8-part multi-timbral - 32-voice polyphony - 16 track sequencer – EXTREMELY intuitive and easy to use! - 2 independent stereo effects units, 47 types, flexible routing - 4 assignable audio outputs for flexibility in recording situations - 3.5” 2DD floppy disk drive (see discussion above) - THE CLEAREST, MOST USEFUL OWNER’S MANUAL TO EVER COME OUT OF JAPAN. Japanese electronic musical instrument manufacturers had long been notorious for producing very difficult-to-understand English language owner’s manuals – the 01/W manual is comprehensive, clearly written and carefully laid out, a PLEASURE to use – Korg definitely put a lot of care and consideration into this one! Included in this sale - the 0/1W FD - original factory settings floppy - original manual - original AC cable - Calzone ATA case, custom-built for this keyboard Sale terms Local pick-up in Manhattan, NYC *** OR *** I'm willing to ship the 01/W in the Calzone case via FedEx Ground. In addition to the shipping charge, FedEx will assess a handling fee (I think it is $10) for shipping the Calzone unboxed, which I will require – you save money this way (vs size/weight of boxing it, plus FedEx's packing service and materials $$$); and after all, this is how this rig was designed to travel!
