Martin’s Cowboy X and Cowboy II were so popular, the company decided to do it again with the Cowboy III. Like its predecessors, the Cowboy III features distinctive soundboard artwork from illustrator and cartoonist Robert Armstrong. This illustration is of a corral scene populated by colorful western characters, including one that we’re told looks a bit like Martin CEO Chris Martin. There are only 750 of these great instruments in existence.
So special Player's/Collector piece: A limited edition Martin, built in 2002 as part of an artwork series. This piece sports a beautiful screening of a painting by artist Robert Armstrong on the top, juxtaposed against a unique composite qulaity build. This guitar has a unique and fun tone, and plays wonderfully up and down the fingerboard. It comes professionally luthier setup, so it’ll play great right out of the case..
