Fender Champion Vintage Lap Steel Guitar with Case
Estimated price for orientation: 800 $
Category: Lap and Pedal Steel Guitars
Class:
Description Brand: Fender Country/Region of Manufacture: United States Type: Electric
Here's an early example of the Fender Champion lap steel guitar. I've seen serial numbers as high as 9000, and the serial number of this one is 279, so it might be one of the earliest ones. I was told that it was made between 1950 and 1952.The control knobs are NOT original; they are replicas, maybe the tuners too. Everything else looks authentic to me. The chrome is very nice, with only a little pitting and some tiny scratches between the knobs. Otherwise, there are the scuffs you should expect from an instrument of this age. The Pearloid finish has no chips or serious scratches, and the felt on the back is nearly intact. Please look at the close-up photos, where I've tried to show the guitar's wear in the worst light that I could. It looks very nice in person. The pickup delivers a wonderful bright vintage sound! There's a high quality Vanguard case included, adapted to fit. All sales are final, so please look carefully and ask any questions you have before bidding. I will only ship to the lower 48 states, and will not ship internationally. Thanks for looking.
