Very old and interesting violin with sweetest italian sound you can imagine and for a unbelievably low price! This very old and attractive violin is probably Austrian made, early 19th century, carrying label by famous Vienna maker Martins Stoss. Violin's back (corpus) size is 35,3cm, which resembles most popular size of many old italian (also Del Gesu)and famous Mittenwald makers, which is always a sign of good tone, an instrument more or less copied after famous italian 18th century examples, but with very individual master characteristics. The violin is in good playable condition, with some old scratches (it is easily to make them practically invisible with polishing) and wear to the varnish what is quite logical for instrument which was played more all these years! The sound has typically that old italian sweetness, which is so typical for that size, but it is also with good projection enough to play at concerts. It is one of instruments made for player, it is unbelievable, how easy you can feel with it. Overall in a good state of preservation,quite recent setup,was professionally played quite recently. This is a part from advanced students made shop where they are selling/exchanging things between themselves.
