KR-33A Side-Address Cardioid Condenser MicrophoneAfter many years of experimenting with both large diaphragm tube and FET assemblies, THE has come up with a marriage of tone and depth that captures the best of both worlds. This is a traditional (true-condenser) design.We started with a German/Russian deep-math designed capsule specially modified for our preamp assembly to give that large and "important" traditional 33mm sound while retaining a lot of ambient "capture".Our 33mm microphone is engineered to provide a midrange response specifically optimized for the voice. The resulting mic offers the "presence" that many recording engineers seek for a vocal or solo instrument track that cuts smoothly and can therefore can be soft-mixed throughout a recording, as far-back or up-front as you want to make the track - and still hear the instrument or voice clearly - without hype or false shelving.All this is combined with a modular design and satin-nickel and 24K gold plated finishing, resulting in an exceptionally expressive product for any professional recording. THE KR-33A microphone is the perfect "specialist" for a modern recording studio, providing outstanding sound with extremely low self-noise and high dynamic range characteristics.
