Alder body and original celluloid pickguard from a 1967 Precision Bass. Previous owner stripped (orig sunburst) and routed out body for a neck pickup and extra control cavity. He then refinished with a thin lacquer. I filled in the cavities and the body will ship that way. The pictures are included to show how it looked when I got it. I filled the control cavity with poplar and the neck with walnut. The long thin route was only about 1/8" deep. Gaps filled in with Bondo, but bottoms and most edges of routes/ plug pieces are very clean and flat with maximum gluing surface.I used titebond and clamps for this. Lots of squeeze out with the glue, which means the bottom and some edges surfaces made maximum contact. If you decide to repaint, you'll only need to strip the rest of the laquer off, touch up some dings, sand with 320 and seal/finish. The pickguard was routed for the extra pickup and will ship with a spare piece of tortoise guard. You'll need to cut it out an patch it yourself. I think the shield is non original. Besides all the above mentioned issues, this body is in great shape. There's no funny business around the neck pocket and the screw holes are nice and straight with no stress on them and you can still see the threading. Same goes for the bridge area. The belly and forearm contours on this body are so deep that I'd call them absurd. So comfortable! This is a beautifully aged piece of alder weighing in at 4lb 8 1/2oz. It rings out acoustically as loud as you can get. It's FIFTY years old now! When the bass was strung up it had a nice woody, acoustic tone, but a surprising amount of sustain. This is from a post CBS production instrument, but it had features of a much older, early to mid 60's bass. The bridge saddles were threaded, pickups had black fiber bottoms (also for sale later), hootenany strap button, and a very wide and flat neck profile. This will make a FANTASTIC bass for someone out there! They aren't making any more 67 bass bodies :)
