My name is Wayne Johnson, my company is Innovative Guitars. I build, from aluminum, electric guitars, bass guitars, and lap steel guitars. This is what i call 'FryPan-8", an 8 string Frypan Lap Steel Guitar. i built this guitar perhaps 3 years ago, it is one of two of this particular head stock design. This is a prototype, after building these two I changed the head stock design on subsequent FryPan guitar builds. You can go to my Innovative Guitars web site and see the new headstock designs. Oregon Myrtle wood for the back plate and fingerboard and pickup flat work. String spacing is .400. String height is around .625 from fingerboard. it has 28 fret lines. I cut grooves into the board for the fret lines, holes drilled through the wood so the polished metal below shines through. I wound the pickup myself using alnico 5 magnets, pickup is strong and will drive an amp hard if you want it to. Weight is around 14 pounds, very heavy for a lap steel guitar, and it has totally amazing sustain. Tone is clear and rich and sweet on clean amp settings. Tone and volume pots 250k. Scale length is 22 1/2.This has been my own personal guitar, which I made for my own use, has rarely been away from my home.
