Brand: Gibson String Configuration: 6 String
Model: J-160E MPN: J-160E

J-160E is a guitar that is too famous as a lover of John Lennon. The 62 and 64 years model of the same year as John is a very expensive and difficult to obtain instrument with an extremely premium. The 55-year model of this time is its initial spec and features a large dial type adjustable bridge. The price is not so expensive and it is an affordable age.
Top is spruce plywood, ladder bracing. Side back is mahogany, Hakaranda fingerboard, Hakaranda's original bridge.
The P-90 pickups and assemblies are original, and the pot date is 54 years and 55 years.
Peg is a line of Kruson keystone, but there is evidence that another peg was attached once. There is rust, but the motion is still no problem.
The pick guard has been replaced.
Serial number is almost disappeared and it is unknown but I do not mistake it from 1955 from the pot date, spec.
Weather check is finely fine throughout, small scratches are also seen, but there are no big scratches or repair history.
A strap pin is hit on the neck heel.
Nuts and saddles are original, and frets are the same thin type as the original.
It is a regular grip of a nut part width of about 42.8 mm.
It is set to about 6 string 2.4 mm, 1 string 1.8 mm on 12 frets. Although it is low, Bire does not bother me.
Since it is an adjustable bridge, you can set the height as you like.
Braising sounds with ladder style, light and warm tones.
The plywood loud sound volume is not that much. It is a distinctive sound of dry feeling with a tone like a beatles song and a slightly loose feeling of tone.
For those who are asking for full-fledged acoustic sounds, ordinary J-45 is good, but the sound of this light-hearted taste unique to this model is unique to J-160E.
The musical instrument of this time has a replacement history of pick guards and pegs, so it became slightly negative as a collector's item and I brought it out at a considerably affordable price. As a player's guitar, I think that the 50s J-160E can be obtained at this price is quite a bargain.
It is with hard case for Gibson in the 1970's.
