This is a one of a kind, custom shop guitar, done for Guild's NAMM booth. It sounds and plays beautifully. If you look closely at the serial number, you'll see its number one and when I communicated with Guild that year, they told me that they had not made anymore. I have seen one copper from the next year, but other than the color , it was totally different. Check out the zipper pattern binding!! When seen from the audience, this guitar absolutely glows. There are just a very few blemishes from its time out playing. And there are marks from hanging on a guitar rack at the point where the neck meets the headstock. All-in-all absolutely gorgeous!!! From the Guild website: Guild’s Starfire III is equipped with features of extra advantage to the rock ‘n’ roll guitarist who seeks a combination of flashy appearance and extraordinary tonal possibilities. Stellar features are all here, including the extra-thin hollow body, and graceful single Florentine cutaway. The welcome return of a rocking early-’60s favorite with a personality all its own. *****The pickups in this guitar were placed there by Guild when it was manufactured in 2002.***** |
