1941 Buescher 400 Top Hat & Cane Alto Saxophone 1941 Buescher 400 Top Hat & Cane Alto Saxophone This Buescher 400 Top Hat & Cane Alto Saxophone has a serial number of 296xxx, which puts it’s production somewhere around 1941. Overall the saxophone looks great and has the original finish with a nice dark patina. There is very little wear in the lacquer, most of which is on the palm, octave and pinky keys. The pads all look pretty good and looks like all of them have the original Buescher snap ins. This saxophone also has the original gold plated springs. The neck is original and is in good condition, some lacquer wear. The neck cork pictured is not the neck cork on the sax, we have changed that since the pictures so that it could be properly test played. The sax plays well as is but any professional will probably want to take it in to have adjustments specific to what they want. Comes in a vintage True Tone case and with a vintage neck strap. You won’t find many first year production Top Hat and Cane Altos in better condition than this one. No mouthpiece included.
