I made this baritone from what I believe to be a 2002 pre Hanser Music Group purchase quilted maple Michael Kelly model QAB3-QN in very nearly perfect condition. It is not a Dragonfly, Firefly, or Club Custom – it predates those models and I am unlikely to find another like it so it is likely to be one of a kind. I found no obvious flaws when I converted it other than very light usage ware. It is the most beautiful guitar I have made to date and features lots of abalone in the rosette, the top purling, and block style position markers. I have finished the guitar with gold hardware and a sound port. I am selling it on eBay with no case for $649. As of this writing I do have a used hard case in good condition for an additional $75. "I can't begin to brag on this guitar enough after playing it all weekend. Tuned up very easily. Tried altered lower tunings on the way to Drop Ab. Then Drop Ab and a variation(l-h Ab,Db,Ab,Db,Gb,Bb). It tunes so easily and holds the tuning forever. The bridge design and nut slant are ingenious and integral to the tone and playability. My dad is a mechanical wiz and engineering genius and saw the bridge. His comment was "Man! This guy knows his stuff! That's a great idea!" The sound port lets me hear all the warm overtones and the electronics were flawless. I'm mostly into the heavier low tuned forms of metal and this guitar is great for ballads,songwriting,unplugged jams with friends and practicing. And the tone is unreal,to my ears(after playing music for 25 years)guitars sound better and more powerful in this range. Very impressed and thankful!
