Up for sale, a 2002 Fender Telecaster Custom '62 vintage reissue in excellent condition and in perfect working order.  This "Crafted in Japan" Telecaster is a rare model, meant only for the Japanese domestic market, and features a transparent cherry red finish over an alder body, with aged white binding on the top and back of the instrument for a classic Fender look. Officially model TL62B-80TX, this guitar comes stock from the factory with USA Custom Shop Texas Special black bobbin pickups. If you're looking for a pickup that has a bit more kick than your traditional Tele pickup while still retaining the twang, snap, and snarl associated with that hallowed single coil, the Texas Special is a perfect choice. Even with the slightly increased output from the pickups, the guitar still has Fender's signature clarity and chime, with biting treble response in the bridge position and smooth, sweet tones at the neck. The guitar weighs in at 7lbs 12oz. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Tele is strung with 10-46 strings and has low, slinky action and spot-on intonation. The one-piece maple neck profile has a classic medium C shape with just enough roundness in the shoulders and overall profile depth to give it a substantial, comfortable feel. The smooth ambered gloss finish feels great on the palm too. The slab rosewood fretboard boasts Fender's traditional 7 1/4" fretboard radius, with a 1 5/8" nut and vintage style fretwire. These frets show light wear beneath the G and B strings on frets 1-8, with fainter wear until roughly the octave. The frets retain their full factory height and play cleanly in all positions with no untoward buzzes or dead spots. The headstock retains a Pre-CBS style Tele logo as well as a set of Gotoh-made, Kluson-style tuners that match vintage spec and turn smoothly.
All of the stock electronics work as they should, and the chrome hardware is very clean. The "Pat. Pending" bridge plate and finely grooved metal saddles are consistent with 1962 Fender spec too! Cosmetically, this guitar shows minor play wear, with a few scuffs and dimples on the back mostly on the upper bout bass side of the body, as well as light wear in the pick path. The cherry red gloss finish is vibrant and rich, while still allowing the grain of the alder body to be seen. It's an extremely rare factory finish, and it's one we rarely see! With Fender Japan no longer producing this model/color combination, this is a particularly rare variant on the classic Tele Custom double bound look. Overall, this is a very clean and well kept guitar with classic USA made Fender pickups!

A gigbag is included.
