NO WARRANTIES OR GUARANTEES!We acquired this rare and vintage AMPEX AG-440C (1/2 INCH TAPE / 2 TRACK and TEAC 3344 - 1/4 INCH TAPE)  from a buyer who bought them from a recording studio 5 years ago.  The original buyer intended on building a studio but eventually did not and these items were never used, serviced or tested.  They appear to be in excellent condition cosmetically. The item and its components arrived to the original buyer crated and packed very well and had been in climate controlled storage ever since. We have just recently removed them from their original crates upon acquisition and to photograph them.   Although this sale is outside of our inventory of Gems and Antiques, we priced this item reasonably as the analog sound quality is historically excellent.Here is what we know about:AMPEX AG-440C1. this machine was purchased from a professional recording studio in 2011. It was never used, serviced, tested, cleaned or powered up after its purchase and receipt of the machine. 2. Included are the three power amps and remote and manual as shown in the photos.3. Also included is the closing cover not pictured.
4. The AMPEX AG-440C heads can be configured for 1/2 inch tape or 1/4 inch tape.5. cosmetically, the AMPEX and its components and cover appears very clean and in excellent well taken care of condition.6. All of the components stated above have been recently removed from its original bubble wrap from its 2011 shipping crate.7. This Ampex machine has never been plugged in or tested since it arrived to the original buyer in 2011.8. We don't know if this Ampex is in working condition. We can only assume it is as was assured to the original buyer from the studio owner it was purchased from.  However, we are not experts in this field and will not guarantee the condition as working properly or not. 9. We don't know the hours on the machine.10. We don't know if the Ampex powers up or not as it was not plugged or hooked up since we acquired it.11. We don't know what parts need servicing or replacing, if any.12. What we do know is that the machine was working at the time it was originally sold by the recording studio in 2011 although this is merely word pf mouth that has passed down from buyer to seller etc. We do not stand behind this statement as we were not the original buyer.This AMPEX is very heavy in weight.
