Here is a vintage (serial number L82399) Conn 6D Double French Horn. It is in good condition and plays very well. The valves move well with excellent compression--it seems that this horn must hardly have ever been played. The slides all move of course. As for the aesthetic condition of the instrument, there are a few very small dings and pings, but the lacquer didn't survive the decades and there is some light scratching and pitting throughout the horn. The horn was dropped on the bell early in its life, and there are a few small brazed repairs near the bell engraving. All this is visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop, and repaired to full playability. This horn is not lacquered; therefore fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now; if they are not wiped off then the horn will develop a lovely patina. This instrument comes with a somewhat worn hardshell case and a mouthpiece in good condition.
