Gibson Les Paul Standard in gorgeous sunburst finish from 1976. This guitar is in lovely condition for it's age and has very few signs of wear on the front or back (very little buckle wear). I have had this since 2006 and for most of the time it has been unplayed in it's non-original case which is included. It has new strings and has just been checked out by my local music shop and plays like a dream with a low action and great sounding pick ups. The previous owner had it for 15 years and bought if from Guitar Village in Farnham Surrey and never gigged. This is why the guitar is in great shape for a 40 year old. The neck is a 3 piece and the body top cap is 3 piece. The tone/volume pots are vintage( believed to be CTS 75's). Underneath pot plates at the back of the guitar there are two dates; JAN 16 1976 in black ink and JAN17 1976 in red ink. There is also a rectangular box stamp with "00" in bold black ink. The headstock has had it's tuning repositioned( see pics) and the machine heads are non-original Grover Deluxe which were fitted by Anderton's in Surrey by the previous owner. Scratch wise there are a dozen or so minor scratches but only 3 are noticeable: 1/ On the back of the neck 2/ On the maple top 3/ Back of the guitar on the edge of the pots cover. I have tried to show these marks on the photos. Sometimes difficult to get all the scratches with camera glare. The bridge pick up was replaced by an Evolution II Humbucker before the previous owner acquired the guitar. Overall the guitar is a lovely quality instrument which deserves a good home. It sounds amazing and you are welcome to try before you buy. It is also for sale on the wall of my local shop. With enough warning and no time wasters please I could arrange to pick it up/ show you at the shop. I would prefer that the buyer collects although I can send out well packed in it's case via Royal Mail. Please note the guitar is advertised elsewhere too and I will only ship to UK unless previously arranged so I can quote p&p. You can buy with confidence as I have 100% positive feedback. Thanks for looking...........
