Fender D’Aquisto Standard Black Archtop Guitar 1985 with OHSC Price: $2,250.00 For sale is an amazing archtop guitar from the folks at Fender. This is from their very short foray into archtop guitars, in which they partnered with guitar builder Jimmy D'Aquisto, the last and most celebrated apprentice to the legendary John D'Angelico. In an abbreviated career of just three decades, D'Aquisto created a peerless body of work, instruments that are now the most costly and sought after archtops ever made. This model is the D'Aquisto Standard and features a number of D'Aquisto's signature designs. The soundboard has his original single point soundholes, and all r0sewood hardware, including contoured tailpiece, bound pickguard, and solid control knobs. Two specially designed Schaller humbucking pickups offers fat, classic jazz tone with superior feedback resistance. With dimensions similar to the ES-175, the 16" body is comfortable to hold, with a sleek 2 3/4" body depth, and the 24 3/4" scale makes fast runs and stretch chords fall more easily under the hand. The guitar is currently set up with low and very fast action that makes it a total breeze to play. Cosmetically in very good, there is some finish swirling on the top and buckle rash along the back. Towards the bottom of the guitar there are two screws that appear to be a repair made to fix a crack, they do not effect the tonality, playability or structural integrity of the instrument whatsoever. Included with the guitar is the original Fender plush lined hardshell case. This a truly fantastic and incredibly rare archtop guitar that is highly prized by many serious players and will fit any and all of your archtop needs to a T.
