It will come as no secret to most flute players that the quality of the head joint determines a great deal of the overall playability of a flute. This Altus head joint is made of Brittania Silver (.958). This purity of Silver lends a Brilliance and Beauty to the Sonority !!Interestingly enough, the Gold Plating on the Lip Plate and extending throughout the Interior of the tube has a substantial and very positive effect on the sonics of the head joint and therefore on the entire flute. The resulting sonority is large with extra robustness and a much more interesting tonal palette.This Altus head joint allows the Flutist to upgrade his/her flute without having to purchase a new instrument.!! Note: This head joint should fit all Altus Flutes but some adjustment may be necessary !!
