I am the original owner of this beautiful 1978 Yamaha SG 2000 solid body electric guitar. I purchased it brand new in 1978, played it lightly and infrequently for about 3 years after original purchase. After that time I stopped playing and stored it in its case in a closet, in a smoke free home for over 30 years. About 6 month ago I began playing again but realized now that this guitar is a little too heavy for me due to back problems (appx. 10 lbs.), hence why I decided to part with it.Just some background on this guitar. This specific model of Yamaha was the first production model designed and built in collaboration between Yamaha and Carlos Santana, who was playing a prototype of this model back in the mid to late 1970s. It is a solid and well built guitar that boasts incredible sustain that Carlos Santana was looking for. This model is a highly valued and respected Yamaha, in fact, it was its flagship electric guitar at the time. Do a Google search for additional background information on this model. Every thing is original and works fine on this guitar, no scratchy pots, and neck is straight. The guitar plays and sounds great. The condition is excellent, just a few very slight and almost imperceptible fingernail indents on the face, and some minor and normal light pick scratches on the pick guard as one would expect. It comes with its original hard shell case in excellent condition, and manual. All in all, this guitar is really in near mint condition given its age. I will carefully pack the guitar in its original case and inside a cardboard box packed with foam and bubble wrap.
