This is a "RARE" 1983 Slingerland 3 ply Maple/Poplar/Maple ( depth x head size ) 14" x 22", 14" x 22" bass drums. 8" x 12", 9" x 13", 10" x 14", 12" x 15" mounted toms. 16" x 16 floor tom" NATURAL MAPLE LACQUER "This was an Endorsers Kit. Kit is in very nice vintage condition. Lacquer is flaking off the shells. Very normal for age. I think it looks perfect this way. A lot of patina.Like a 50's Fender Stratocaster. Chrome is very nice with some minor signs of pitting here and there. nothing major. Normal wear. Lacquer is flaking off shells. floor tom bottom rim is Ludwig.b.d. batter side hoops are Ludwig thermogloss hoops. 1 of the b.d. tom brackets has an after market nut to tension up 1 tom arm. see picture#12. The badges are all 1983 4 are black & gold Niles badges and 3 are black & silver Niles badges. very common for 1983. The black & Gold badges were originally produced for the black Gold kits. Slingerland used them up on other drums as well. This kit was a Slingerland endorsers kit.
THESE 3 PLY NO RERING SHELLS ARE REAL LIGHTWEIGHT AND THEY ABSOLUTELY SING. ONE OF THE BEST SOUNDING KITS THAT EVER CAME THRU MY DOORS. All of the toms 12,13,14,15,16 are 3 ply Maple/Poplar/Maple shells with no rerings. All shells are in round and heads spin freely except the bottom of the 16 goes on just a little tigh. no bad at all. and edges are factory good.

Has a Slingerland double tom post bracket. hoops are solid with a few very minor marks. front hoop is original Slingerland. Batter hoop is Maple thermogloss Ludwig. Has its original Slingerland white logo head ( Head has a small hole from a pedal linkage rubbing. no problem what so ever. ) and a Remo powerstroke 3 batter head.
