Original RCA 77 microphone with matching RCA base. Has provenance card from Station WGAR in Cleveland, Ohio, and was once used by JACK PAAR. This is a great classic original RCA 77 B-1 Ribbon microphone. Although it has an interesting history I'm basically selling as a great RCA microphone with matching base and call flag. Beautiful art deco chrome and black microphone with matching base.The history of the microphone is documented with the signed card firmly attached to base from WGAR announcer Joe Mayer. Card reads that Jack spoke 3,500,000 words though this mike. It was presented by Joe Mayer, from Jack Paar, to (?). It is not signed by Jack Paar.Microphone is all complete inside and out. The chrome grill is in excellent condition. Has original RCA parts, shock mount, mounting yoke, strain relief, base, etc., and mic has not been tested. The WGAR flag on top is hard, appears to be made of ceramic?The microphone and the book "P. S. Jack Paar" were acquired together approximately 10-15 years ago, along with the details and history of the microphone which I believe to be true. I do not completely understand the significance of the book or the signatures for relevance to WGAR. My understanding is both were presented to a fellow announcer at station WGAR. Selling them just as they were acquired.Jack Paar worked at WGAR prior to hosting "The Tonight Show" from 1957 to 1962. In addition to his many entertainment accomplishments he was a well known comedian and wrote 3 books. The photos are part of the description and should represent the condition but please ask any questions. Nice rare historic microphone in great original condition. Microphone will be well packed into a large box for safe shipping USPS PRIORITY or FedEx unless other shipping arrangements are made.
