If you've never heard any stories about Ron Oates, the luthier behind Rono mandolins, google his name and you can read through many threads of angry and frustrated customers who had to badger and harass this guy into fulfilling his orders.  This one is no exception!  The original owner of this mandolin had to pester and threaten legal action to get Mr. Oates to finally send him the mandolin he ordered.  It's not without its faults though.  He obviously didn't have a piece of maple big enough so he used a sliver of maple on either side of the top to fill it in.  I tried to show it in pictures 3 and 4.  He also made the pickup routes too big and you can see a little gap in the wood.  Shown in picture 9 and 10.  Replacing the pickup covers will take care of that. It's got some dings from playing and some checking on the body.  The pickups are Bill Lawrence USA.  The tuners are Gotoh. Made in 2003. The original price was over $4,000. I'm in no rush to sell so low ballers with be laughed at. If it doesn't sell, it'll just remain in my collection. Thanks.
