Gibson conversion 5 string banjo neck for one piece flange. Flame maple neck with ebony fret board. Fiddle headstock with leaves and bows #3 hand cut inlay. 26 1/2" scale. 1.25" at the nut. "Gibson" is inlayed in the headstock. Ivoroid grain binding with side position dots. 5th string capo's at the 7th 9th and 12th. Good playing neck with a nice profile. Not a "Frank Neat" neck but a good shape and finish. Neck was built in a banjo shop in Penn. USA. This is not a import neck. This neck was made with a quality aged wood blank and finished by some good banjo builders in the late 1970's. Frets have some wear but appear to have been re crowned and are in good shape. A few chips around one tuner hole (see pictures) Heel is pretty clean cut and is drilled for lag screws. Dark spot on side of heel is "felt residue" from the neck notch of the resonator and will clean off. Finish on neck is in good condition. Inlay block at the 21st fret says "HENRY" so if your name is Henry your in luck, if not you can change the inlay or your name ! buyer pays actual shipping and I ship word wide. Email questions. |
