DAG Telstar partscaster:This is a unique one - the body was purchased as an overstocked DAG Telstar body, and had been finished in a nice red by Marty Bell. It is not a production DAG Telstar, but I was told the body is indeed authentic, and having owned a real DAG Telstar before, the contours do indeed match. Basically, it is a DAG Telstar partscaster, but with premium parts:Rutters Chimemaster tremolo system, Glendale control plate, Rutters knobs, CTS 250k pots, Emerson tone cap. James Tyler 5500 Tele bridge pickup and 1979 Fender Strat neck pickup rewound by John Suhr share the normal 3-way switch. Brent Mason style vintage 80's Seymour Duncan maroon stacked humbucker is on the mini switch and bypasses the controls going straight to output jack. Middle position of mini switch is muted. Neck is a nice thick vintage style Allparts roughly reshaped headstock neck that was purchased as a placeholder until a real DAG Telstar neck could be sourced (saw one for sale a few years back) but I have yet to find one and the Allparts neck actually feels great in the meantime (though as you can see in pics the re-shaped part was sanded but no further finish applied). An incredible guitar, not a production Telstar, but the tone and playability are there. Topnotch parts put together right make for some incredible tones and a lot of fun to play!
*If interested, USACG will make a custom DAG headstock shaped neck to your specs, I checked with them - with that in mind, I would also consider selling this as a loaded body so you can source your own neck - happy to keep this one! Just make me a best offer, for just the loaded body in the notes.**To be very clear in order to avoid confusion: This is NOT a normal production DAG Telstar, but I believe it is a real DAG Telstar body, pickguard, and trem backplate, along with other parts it was made into the incredible guitar you are considering for purchase.
Guitar is used so has some finish imperfections and wear. Vintage guitar pickups can be microphonic and as single coils can be noisy and have hum - that is the trade-off for the great tone they produce. You accept that fact if you bid/buy this guitar. Please ask any/all questions and look at pictures before bidding. It is the buyer's responsibility to follow auction rules and understand what they are bidding on, including all aspects of condition. Only what is pictured and described is included - if unclear, then ask to clarify. If you bid or make an offer, you must follow-through and buy; you need to pay auction closing price plus $65.00 shipping and insurance costs. You will receive the item as stated and pictured, with no expressed or implied warranty as the item is used. I am not a dealer or a store, so - it is sold as-is, no warranty, no returns, no trial periods. Auction is for US bidders only, and I will only ship to a confirmed US address.
