What you're viewing is my 2001 Gibson ES-446. This is one of Gibson's more unique and now discontinued models. It came out along with the Gibson Pat Martino and is the same body size, slightly larger than a Les Paul and smaller than an ES-335, but crafted with different materials. The ES-446 features a solid hand carved spruce top and mahogany back/sides/neck. The top construction is unique insofar as the braces are actually an integral part of the carved spruce top which is then fitted to a single piece of carved mahogany for the back/sides. This is a very light guitar, under 7 lbs., and extremely resonant. Other features include a 60's slim taper neck profile, unbound rosewood fretboard, and single top binding sharp Florentine cutaway, and a beautifully applied faded Heritage Cherry nitrocellulose finish. In regard to the electronics, I've tried several different pickup types (Fralin, Klein, and Lollar to name a few) but have re-installed the original 57 Classics that were stock. I did replace the stock Gibson wiring harness that had cheap ceramic tone caps with an RS Guitarworks harness that features lower tolerance volume/tone pots and Jensen paper-in-oil capacitors. I can re-install the stock harness if the buyer would prefer. Either way,  I'll include the stock or RS harness with the sale. In regard to condition, there are no dings, no buckle rash, no gouges. There are some mild surface scratches from handling and playing as should be expected. There is a very small dark spot located beneath the treble leg of the tailpiece which is a natural part of the spruce top and what I'd call a birthmark. I tried getting a good pic of this but could not. It did not come with a COA but it does have the warranty brochure which I will include inside the original Gibsion Custom shop case. The case is in very good to excellent condition. Okay, I think that covers it. If you have questions contact me.
