Washburn Model M226SWK Mandola - Vintage Natural Factory Blem #B536
Product Description This great mandola came to us directly from Washburn as a factory blem. My tech went over it from top to bottom and it plays great and looks great. It has a few minor cosmetic flaws which you can see in the last five photos. These flaws are purely cosmetic and do not affect playability whatsoever. Washburn is pleased to introduce the new M226SWK A-style mandola. With its distressed look, the M226SW has a broken in and well played feel. Only premium woods like solid flamed maple and solid spruce have been used in crafting this unique and striking instrument. The Mandola instrument is the ancestor of the modern day Mandolin. The strings are tuned in unison, rather than in octaves as seen on traditional modern Mandolins. The Mandola also has a longer scale length then traditional mandolins, at 17 inches. It is normally tuned just like a viola, C G D and A. Lyon & Healy, before incorporating as Washburn, was the first American manufacturer of mandolins until Washburn began making mandolins in 1887. The new M226SW echoes the trends in mandolin styles of the early 20th century. Washburn has been building mandolins and mandolas since the late 1800s. Whether you're a bluegrass, Celtic or rock player, see how the addition of a mandola can broaden your sonic pallet and add a new dimension to your music. For traditionalists, you'll find all the tone & projection you'd expect from Washburn’s world class instruments.
