This is a vintage 1970-73 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe. An absolute stunner of a guitar, this plays and sounds like a vintage Gibson should. The mini-humbuckered Gibson Deluxe was introduced to provide a more 'cutting' tone, and proved popular with guitarists and collectors alike. The volume pots indicate 1970, although we believe the guitar may be a '71-'73 due to the rarity of this finish in 1970. Gibson's serial numbers were very vague in this period. The neck pickup is warm and smooth, and breaks up beautifully when pushed through a good tube amp. The bridge pickup has a lower output, but sounds cutting and crisp, excellent for funk, and with the tone rolled back it becomes rich with great vibe. The guitar has been refretted at some point (due to a preference for wider frets), and they feel fantastic to play. The neck is slim and the fretboard has a seriously easy action, this guitar is very hard to put down. The tone pots have been replaced, and as is often the case, the pickguard has been removed. The condition is excellent. It has the odd small mark here and there, but for a 40-odd year old guitar, it's in superb nick and has aged beautifully.
