Hey folks... here we have a YAMAHA DX7 Synthesiser... (FM synthesis!!!) in bespoke FLIGHT CASE with 3 ROM MODULES for sale in a bundle. The Rom Carts are rare and expensive in and of themselves, and here you are getting 3, the 2 original ROMs and the very hard to find VRC-104 (Percussion Group)!!!!!Really no need to introduce this beast but here is a breakdown of all its glory: to quote a happy DX7 user: "On the one hand, you can play the obvious boppy, funky FM synthesis basic stuff, that was in a lot of 80s pop music - fantastic, sharp sounds that cut through the mix, and surprisingly huge bass tones (this was my biggest surprise getting this synth - digital can make huge, full bass after all!). But at the other end, this is a sound designers dream - gorgeous, silky, organically evolving pads and glacial, expansive tones or terrifying, mutating textures that only FM synthesis can produce. Mental, would be a good way to describe some of the sounds this thing can produce! Put this through some select outboard fx and you are flying - good reverb especially. Stunning."Doesnt come with a manual. As you can see in the pics, the handle of the flight case shows signs of wear, but the inner of the handle itself is metal surrounded by hard plastic, so this still does its job. The internal memory battery will need replacing. Kits available on ebay---> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281064417318 There are loads of youtube vids on how to do and its really straight forward I just havent had time. .Everything in very good condition and was working perfectly all the way up to when it was put safely in storage... during which time the internal battery bit the dust. This synth has been VERY well looked after by my dad... (kept in its flight case between gigs and studio sessions). It was used by him in the band Voyager through the early 80s!!! Thats why there is a P R F sticker on the bottom left of the unit below the mod/pitch wheels.Synth is in my studio in central Bristol. What with the flight case being so robust and the synth already heavy, this thing is a real lump to carry, so collection preferred. However, you can arrange a courier at your own expense and we can organise a collection if that's how you want to play it.Good Luck!!ps - i may be away for days at a time but will check ebay regularly.
