If you are within driving distance to Mims Florida then please call me for an appointment to inspect and play befoe buying. No disappointments here. IT COME WITH ORIGINAL CASE. See photo 10 of case and boxes that I will ship in, on shelf in my garage. Photo 11 show my home non smoking music room that guitar stays in. I will pack it very well double boxed., and it will require a signature upon delivery. I will only ship to confirmed PayPal addresses and only sold and shipped to the lower continental 48 United States of America. Look at the chord changer. Each pedal can be setup for each string - to do nothing, or lower the pitch, or raise the pitch of each individual string. Amazing mechanical device. Patent applied for 1947, granted 1949, which is the year of this guitar. Tuning: First choose how you want the guitar tuned with no pedals pushed, then tune all 6 strings opened to that tuning.
There is one bar for each pedal. Each bar has 12 threaded holes. The user simply tightens his/her choice of screws to raise or lower pitch of any string (s) he or she wishes to change with that bar when the bar is pulled by its connected pedal. The hole closest to the fretboard raises pitch, the other hole is used to lower pitch. Therefore, use electric tuner, push and hold pedal, tighten screw, pluck string until desired pitch is achived. The only limitations on the pedals changing the opened tuning that I have in countered is limited to approximately 3 half steps (3 frets lower or 3 steps higher in pitch) per string per pedal. Various tuning may require different gauge strings. See photo of string gauge pitch range chart.photo 9.
The volume pot did seem to kind of be scratchy when turning to change volume so I sprayed with a cleaner. It seems fine now, but I do not if that is a permanent fix. Any volume or tone pot may or may not need changing at anytime. Also, you may prefer a different tone cap. Contact your local dealer to see what a set of CTS pot and new tone cap would cost installed. THEN MAKE ME an OFFER.
