The Strat Plus model was introduced in 1987 as an upgraded version of the mid-1980s American Standard Stratocaster (first introduced in 1986) featuring three Gold Lace Sensor pickups (used by Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Buddy Guy), Fender/Wilkinson needle-bearing roller nut (changed to the LSR nut in 1993), Sperzel locking machine heads, a TBX tone control for the middle and bridge pickups and a Hipshot Tremsetter. The Strat Plus was the highest end production model next to Fender Custom Shop guitars.This model is a 1990 original and is all original from the Lace Sensors to the TBX to the locking tuner and the microtilt neck. A fairly lightweight guitar, the construction of this is most likely alder (maybe poplar) with a maple neck, rosewood fretboard and 3 play pickguard. Swimming pool route underneath. Comes with a period correct Fender molded plastic case.This Fender Strat Plus Electric Guitar is a used item in close to excellent condition. There are no major dings, marks or issues with this bass. See above for detail. You can see some normal wear and light surface scratching in a few areas, but hardly visible. All electronics work as they should. You will receive this item well-packed in its original Fender case with whammy bar.
