Selling one of my 1998 Fender Voodoo Strats ... this one in black with maple board. This is perhaps the iconic Hendrix stratocaster, and the most sought after of the Voodoo Strat series. There are many pictures of Jimi playing his black Strat, both on stage and in the recording studio. These are coming up on 20 years old, and getting harder and harder to find. However, I'm trying to fund the purchase of  '62 slab board strat, and some things just have to go.From Guitar Aficionado magazine:"If you think of a guitar that’s closely associated with Jimi Hendrix, it has to be the Fender Stratocaster. ... That said, is there one guitar in particular that would have been overly special to Jimi? The strongest candidate would have probably been his 1968 maple-neck “Black Beauty” Fender Stratocaster, a guitar that rarely left his side later in his career. However, even this instrument was very much just a stock Strat."I purchased this particular guitar some years ago from a well known east coast vintage dealer exclusvely for recording, and it has served beautifully. It had one scratch on the back side when I got it, whch I have tried to show. I had to enhance the photo to do so. Although never gigged, it's studio use and travel have caused some additional scuffs in the finish, mostly on the back, and none of which go through the paint. In fact most of it should buff out. No buckle rash. The frets are still fine. I had it professionally set up when I got it, and it has not needed further adjustment. Plays beautifully. The specifications for these are well known and readily available, so I won't reprint them again. If you're looking at this listing, I presume you know what this guitar is all about.Comes with all the original goodies from Fender: 60's style guitar strap and white telephone style cable (never used), the whammy bar (never screwed in), truss rod wrench, and all other hang tags and booklets. And yes, you get the decal from the pickguard. Has the "TN7" serial number. The case is also in great shape with a few minor nicks. All latches work properly. Please feel free to ask any questions prior to bidding, as I will not accept returns.
